The IntelMark AS-W  PE series of marking machine is designed for marking  steel plates and sheets in harsh industrial environments.  IntelMark AS-W PE are distinguished by the ability to mark human-readable and machine readable code on the edges of the plate products by special high-temperature MCL metal tags. 

MCL metal tag are ceramic-coated to resist up to 1200°C and marked online by CO2 laser printer. The robot picks the tag up from the printer and attach it onto the plate edge using spot welding. This method provides high reliability and quality of attachment; plates with attached tags could go through such brutal operations as hot and cold straightening, turning and bumping to another plates or roll tables without tag damaging. The high quality barcode on the tag insures that plate tracking is guaranteed. The mill personnel can use commercially available hand-held bar code readers to identify each plate right from the stacks or install heavy-duty floor-mounted optical readers, to identify the plate at any point during processing.

Specially designed printer and  patented attaching tools provide the ability to mark plates with thickness starting from 4mm for both hot and cold plates. The system key features are the rugged and durable tags, very high marking quality, short cycle time and flexible layout. These features provide the basis for real-time tracking of plates.

The IntelMark AS-W  PE operates 100% unassisted, requiring only occasional tag and welding wire refilling and normal maintenance. It was designed to operate in line, in the extremely harsh and unfriendly environment of steel melting shops. 

Marking machine based on the basis of industrial robot and include industrial laser printer for tag printing, specially designed welding source and tag attaching tool with 3D scanning system in order to measure the real size of the product (to check the thikness of the plate and real conditions of plate's edge - presence of scabs, edge irregularities, etc.  ) and scan the barcode after tagging.  

Simple and easy to implement interfaces are supplied to connect the machine to existing Level 2 automation systems.  A wide range of communication interfaces allows easy integrating the marking machine with the enterprise information system and receiving the appropriate marking information in real time. 

The machine are available as stand-alone or in combination with paint and stamping marking systems.
